Itu’tha Rakk
A contested archipelago in the bay bordering both Thaya and Revara. The primary battles occur on the largest island, surrounded by several smaller isles. To the north lies Ootza’s Claim, home to Fortan Keep; in the south the Revara hold the canyon port city of Port Tamatka. The archipelago’s mountains, forests, coastlines, resource-rich volcanic region, mines and unique wildlife make it a critical and fiercely contested region.
The heart of the isle is dominated by a massive, active volcano. The area surrounding it is treacherous, with rivers of lava and ash clouds. Despite its peril, the volcano is considered sacred by some Thayn, believed to be the forge of the gods where ancient weapons of power were created. Here Craitep was killed by his brother Brazzim in the final battle.
A desolate region surrounding Torvhaal, deeply marred by ancient battles and cataclysms — jagged terrain, deep chasms, black volcanic rock. The very soil seems to carry the memory of divine conflicts. Volcanic activity has enriched it with some of the richest Savinn crystal veins on the planet, and the Thayn Empire — wary of relying on the distant Salisyans for Savinn — places great strategic importance on its hardy mining settlements.
The central region of the isle, a desolate battlefield where Thayn and Revaran forces constantly clash. The name combines the Thayn words for “curse” (Shar) and “land of war” (Ertor). It is devoid of major settlements; neither side has secured a decisive victory, leaving a landscape of trenches, ruins and the scars of countless battles.
An immense elevated crater lake at the center of the island, with Torvhaal at its eastern end. The Tarran River flows in from the western sea, splitting into two branches before reaching the lake to form Ka’Dorin Isle — a rugged, tall island born of a lava funnel, a strategic and relatively peaceful enclave of small, hardy settlements. The river is a vital trade route and lifeline, and a focal point in territorial disputes. To the north, rolling forested hills hold small farms and outpost forts, the first line of defense against southern incursions.
A Revaran port city carved into the coastal cliffs of the southwest, built on terraces descending to the sea. The upper terrace houses the military command and barracks; the middle, residences and the Cliffside Markets; the lower, the Ebon Docks and shipyards. The Iron Citadel stands over it all. Its position and defenses make it a key target for Thayn forces. The southern isle is dotted with Revaran outposts that serve as staging grounds for their campaigns.
