Once known as The Playground of Gods, this world was later named Insolitus by the younger races — meaning “The Storm Land”, a name born from the eternal, planet-spanning tempest known as Solum.
Insolitus orbits the red supergiant Savinn at a distance of 54.2 AU, yet remains comfortably within the habitable zone due to Savinn’s immense luminosity. Its orbit takes an astonishing 141 Earth years — roughly 44,162 local days — while a rotational period of 28 hours gives longer days and slower circadian rhythms than Earth.
The planet does not experience true seasons. With minimal axial tilt and so long an orbit, climate is determined almost entirely by latitude: the equatorial regions are permanently scorched, the poles locked in frigid cold, and the temperate zones between offer the most stable habitats. A thick, mineral-rich atmosphere and geothermal activity keep temperatures stable throughout.
Surveyors noted powerful light emissions and exotic energy fluctuations from the surface — signatures that strongly indicated biological and technological processes — prompting an immediate reclassification of the system as a high-priority contact zone.
The eastern and western continents are home to the younger races. The Keru of the Sky, the Orthians of the Abyss and the Loam of the Underworld are thought of as the “beastly races”, while the Avo, Thayns and Reeva are said to take after the gods more directly. All share ancestry with the Ancients. Inkazitus, on the eastern continent, is known as the home of the banished, halfbreeds and misfits of the six younger races.
The eternal storm that rages at the center of Insolitus’s continents. It never moves and it never weakens. Many brave and foolish adventurers have ventured to Solum and attempted to cross into it, but none have ever returned to the mainland.
Truthfully, it was created by Soluumon, the Anglitian King, who cast off all of his remaining power after the final battle against the Deamo and summoned Solum. It was meant to bury something that Soluumon held dear. Thayn legend lands closest to this truth, calling Solum the “treasure chest of the gods”. The Keru believe it is the wall surrounding the afterlife; the Reeva fear it as the sleeping protector of the planet; the Avo believe it a simple storm with land beyond. The royal class of Orthians may know more than they tell.
The things on Insolitus that are most impressive are its seemingly magical materials, known to its inhabitants as the elements, or Elemar in the Thayn language. Almost all are used for the sacred ceremony known as “binding” — bonding a person with Elemar to boost their natural magical abilities. This can be extremely dangerous depending on the Elemar and the genetics of the race using it.
Savinn — semi-rare, red, fire and power. Soluumon’s Tears — semi-rare, blue-cyan, ice and water. Lumza — abundant, green, earth and kinetics. Isryl — abundant, white-gold, lightning. Feyzak — extremely rare, multi-coloured, sound and frequency. Braeth — rare, orange, a binding agent.
Insolitus is translated from the old tongue as “The Storm Land”, after the ever-raging storm, Solum, at its heart. Many brave and foolish adventurers have ventured to Solum and attempted to cross into it, but none have ever returned to the mainland. Those who dwell within Solum’s figurative wall know nothing of those outside, and vice versa.

The Keru of the Sky, the Orthians of the Abyss and the Loam of the Underworld are thought of as the “beastly races”, while the Avo, Thayns and Reeva are said to take after the gods more directly. Despite this distinction, they all share ancestry with the ancient “gods”, or Ancient, races.
Inca Zitus, a location on the eastern continent, is known as the home of the banished, halfbreeds or misfits of the six younger races of Insolitus.
