Capital: Ignia
Magic: Fire Taming and Savinn magic
Allied with: Thaya, by trade agreement
The Salisyans are from the northern points of the southwestern continent, their skin described by the Thayns as “a spectrum of grays with eyes like firestones”. Salisya is home to masters of Savinn magic — a formidable power, directly linked to the blood of Savinn that enriched all of Insolitus’s souls.
Prospective mages must first master the art of Fire Taming — nearly impossible for other races — and then undergo a brutal fusing ritual that binds them to pure Savinn crystals. Each ritual crystal is forged in one of the four temple forges; today only three remain, and one of them is lost to the south. The process is extremely dangerous and damaging to the land.
The capital: a hidden fortress guarded by the ground itself. Ignia is home to the fortress Granite, religiously guarded and rumored to contain the ancient races’ portal to other worlds.
The volcanic range at the near center of the continent — the Barrier Mountains — erupted, spilling molten rock and destruction upon the land. The north largely survived; hardly anything in the south was untouched. The range holds the world’s largest concentration of Savinn, and its radiation corrupted the surviving southern Salisyans into the Loam. The Salisyans came to think the Loam an abomination upon the world and sought to destroy them.
Salisya supplies the Thayn Empire with Savinn ores, Cinder Corps mages and information on the west; in exchange the Empire produces Salisya’s extremely heat-resistant armor and weapons, and masks that allow easier breathing in the ashy conditions south of the volcanic border. Lord Soras, the oldest living Salisyan, negotiated the agreement and has remained friends with Keleso Tul’Uthama since. The Salisyans have nearly no text or myth about Solum — they simply do not care.
