Thousands of years ago the Keru were forced from their original home by a Salisyan invasion that burned and crushed their cities, driving them into the mountains known as the Stone Forests. Thayn historians describe them as “a race of angelic winged beings who nest in the highest reaches of the Stone Forest mountains of the western continent.”
The Keru have huge variety within their race. The lower regions of the Stone Forest are home to the Ovasc — “Bugs”, as their superior relatives call them — whose wings have grown weak from spending most of their early development on the ground. The Ithka make up the majority of the population and are generally intelligent, strong and beautiful. The Yuthosa consider themselves the physically elite: strong, agile warriors of the sky whose eyes change with their mood and whose ears stretch further than the rest.
The Keru believe Solum to be the wall surrounding the afterlife. Brave Keru flocks have begun to explore the warming coasts of Avoz to the north.
